Nutrition and Dietetics

For Patients and Visitors

What is the Service?

Dietitians take the most up to date scientific evidence and research and turn it into sensible and easy to understand food related information and education. They assist patients and clients to manage, prevent and treat a range of medical conditions by working with them to develop practical, achievable dietary solutions tailored to individual eating habits and lifestyles.

Dietitians focus on maintaining optimal nutrition through a patient’s hospital admission. They work closely with food services to ensure provision of nutritious meals to meet clinical, cultural and individual dietary preferences, and nursing to ensure regular monitoring of nutritional status.

What do I bring/need for my appointment?

A list of current medications and any supplements you are taking is helpful at outpatient appointments
