Following last year’s record breaking influenza season, this year Northern Health will be providing free influenza vaccinations for the community.
The most important method in preventing influenza and related complications is an annual vaccination.
Influenza causes an estimated 1,500 deaths, 118,000 hospitalisations and 300,000 GP consultations annually in Australia. The number of deaths from influenza each year is similar to the number of Australian road traffic fatalities.
Vaccinations will be available at all our campuses.
On Monday, 9 April 2018, the Look Good Feel Better cancer support workshop at the Northern Hospital Epping celebrated a decade of providing valued support to the local community. Look Good Feel Better is a free national community service program run by the Cancer Patients Foundation, helping to improve the wellbeing and confidence of people.Read More
In 2018, pet therapy services at Northern Health Bundoora achieved the milestone of 30 years or 210 dog years of service. The trained, gentle dogs and their owners have provided over 1800 visits to patients, helping deter feelings of anxiety and loneliness.Read More
In the past year, 93 patients and their families in ICU travelled over 80 kilometres to access our vital services, spending 935 nights away from home. To care for their loved ones, families of ICU patients need to follow them to hospital.
