We are undergoing a 2 stage major rebuilding project to enhance our facilities. June 2016 saw the completion of stage 1, a 3 storey tower and 32-bed inpatient unit, connected to the main hospital via an aerial link.

Stage 2 of the Northern Hospital redevelopment will provide an additional 96 beds and three new operating theatres, including a hybrid theatre, new kitchen and other facilities to support patient care.

When completed in 2021, the hospital expansion will allow an extra 10,000 patients to be treated every year.

We will continue to expand, with planning for the two new community hospitals in Craigieburn and the City of Whittlesea promised by the Victorian Government at the November 2018 state election.
