NDIS Children’s Continence


The NDIS Childrenโ€™s Continence Service is a service supporting children living with a disability who require management for bladder and bowel dysfunction.

Northern Healthโ€™s NDIS Childrenโ€™s Continence Service aims to support children living with a disability who require management for bladder and bowel dysfunction. Northern Health is a registered provider of National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Continence Service. This service is run by a Paediatric Continence Nurse Consultant.


What to expect from the service?

This specialised service supports children with additional needs:

  • who are aged 5 to 18 years of age
  • with bladder and/or bowel problems (including ongoing constipation or diarrhoea, toilet training and bed wetting)
  • to have increased independence and quality of life
  • by providing an assessment, education and recommendations on a range of disposable and washable products
  • and to support carers with the childโ€™s continence needs

Information

To access this service your child will need to have a current NDIS plan with allocated hours/funding for Continence Nursing (Clinical Nurse Consultant).

The fees for NDIS funded supports are set in accordance with NDIS pricing guidelines.

This service is only offered to participants living in the council areas of Banyule, Whittlesea, Nillumbik, Darebin, Yarra, Hume and Merri-bek.


Each referral is reviewed to ensure we have an appropriate therapist with the capacity to see each participant. Our Continence Clinical Nurse Consultants require a minimum of 6 hours to complete a Continence assessment and appropriate recommendations.
