NDIS Adult Continence


The NDIS Adult Continence Service is for adults with a disability who require assessment and management of bladder and or bowel dysfunction.

The NDIS Adult Continence Service is run by our Continence Nurses specialising in in the management of needs relating to bladder and bowel continence. Northern Health is a registered provider of NDIS Continence services.


What to expect from the service?

The service can provide advice and support for participants, including:

  • Comprehensive continence assessment and management
  • Bladder retraining, bowel regulation programs and toileting programs
  • Catheter and other drainage equipment education
  • Prescription of aids and equipment
  • Skin care management
  • Client and carer education and support

Information

To access this service you need to have a current NDIS plan with allocated hours/funding for Continence Nursing, and be 16 years or over. The fees for NDIS funded supports are set in accordance with NDIS pricing guidelines.

This service is only offered to participants living in the council areas of Banyule, Whittlesea, Nillumbik, Darebin, Yarra, Hume and Merri-bek.


Each referral is reviewed to ensure we have an appropriate therapist with the capacity to see each participant. To access this service the participant needs to have a current NDIS plan with allocated hours/funding for Continence Nursing. Our Continence Nurses require a minimum of 6 hours to complete a Continence assessment and appropriate recommendations.
