Our team of highly skilled professionals have extensive experience working with adults living with chronic and/or progressive neurological conditions such as Motor Neuron Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsonโs Disease, and Acquired Brain Injury including Stroke.
Northern Health are also an NDIS provider for the following services for children:
- Continence Nursing
- Paediatric Feeding clinic (run by Speech Pathology and Dietetics)
What to expect from the service?
Based on your needs our team can provide therapy to:
- Improve or maintain physical function
- Improve or maintain independence in daily activities
- Improve or assist communication
- Swallowing advice and education including conducting instrumental Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies
- Dietary, nutritional advice and support including specialist management of enteral feeding tubes
- Prescription of aids and equipment and home modifications
- Carer education
- Assessment and management of feet and footwear needs
- Prescription of a large range of orthotic devices including Functional Electrical Stimulation and custom footwear
- Comprehensive continence assessment and management
To access this service you need to have a current NDIS plan with allocated hours/funding for Allied Health or Continence Nursing. The fees for NDIS funded supports are set in accordance with NDIS pricing guidelines
