Nephrology is the branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease.
Out team of specialists provides a full range of renal services, including:
- general nephrology
- home and hospital-based dialysis
- kidney transplant care (including assessment of patient suitability for kidney transplantation and patient suitability to donate a kidney to a patient with kidney failure)

Our services include:
- hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis at home
- facility and inpatient hemodialysis
- chronic kidney disease (CKD) management and education
- kidney transplant care
- supportive care for patients with end stage kidney disease
- allied health supports including renal specialty dietician, pharmacy, psychology, occupational therapy, podiatry and social work
- interpreter service for a broad range of languages

How to refer:
Your GP may refer you to Northern Nephrology for:
- chronic kidney disease
- end stage renal failure
- kidney transplantation
- glomerulonephritis
- hypertension
- electrolyte abnormalities (such as sodium, potassium or bicarbonate)
- urine abnormalities
- kidney imaging abnormalities
What to bring:
Please bring a list of all your current medications to every appointment.
