The Northern Neonatal Unit is a 23 bed (17 funded), leading level 5 service providing specialised critical care for premature and unwell babies from 30 weeks and 1000 g. Our dedicated neonatologists and multidisciplinary team deliver 24/7, family-centred care, supporting families every step of the way for a smooth transition from hospital to home.
At the Northern Neonatal Unit, we provide expert care for premature and unwell babies from 30 weeks and 1000 g. Our team supports infants needing breathing support, nutrition through IV feeding, or treatment for specific conditions. We also care for newborns after high-risk deliveries or those who become unwell after birth. Families receive ongoing support through follow-up clinics, our Neonatal Hospital in the Home program, and home nutrition services—helping every baby grow stronger and every family feel supported from hospital to home.
