TOAST (Treatment of Oral Anticancer Systemic Therapies) is a service to coordinate and help you manage taking oral medicine at home for your cancer treatment.
The TOAST coordinator is an experienced cancer care nurse. They will:
- ย Contact your doctor and pharmacy to arrange your tablets and blood tests or other tests required for your treatment.
- Contact you via phone before each treatment is due to assess your symptoms and make sure you are safe to continue with your treatment.
- Be available for you or your support person to call and get advice from.
What to expect from the service?
The TOAST coordinator is located at Norther Hospital Epping and Northern Specialist Care, level 2.
The Oncology Nurse Practitioner also operates a nurse -led TOAST clinic on Tuesday Mornings.
