Hospital in the Home Program is getting bigger!
Our Hospital in the Home (HITH) Program is rapidly expanding to provide more in-home care to patients. This is in response to both the current pandemic and the preference of many patients to be treated at home. In addition, it provides the opportunity for additional patients to be admitted for acute care in hospital. Subcutaneous Biologic Home Delivery (SILVER) Service: World-first initiative
The Northern Health Department of Gastroenterology Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Service, is offering a Subcutaneous Biologic Home Delivery (SILVER) Service in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacy. Launched earlier this year, The SILVER Service is expected to eventually deliver to over 100 of the IBD Clinic patients. This world-first service is a home delivery service providing delivery from the hospital’s pharmacy of self-injectable IBD medication to patients’ homes, offered to patients at Northern Health’s IBD Clinic.
