Volunteers have been a valued part of Northern Health since the very beginning, and so have helped shape the way healthcare is provided across Melbourne’s north.
Northern Health’s Volunteer Programme is highly regarded by staff, clients, and their families, because it gives unique and innovative support to the speciality health and welfare services provided by the organisation.
Anyone who is sensitive to the needs of other people, has the ability to get along with others and work as part of a team can be a volunteer. Comprehensive training is provided, age is no barrier to participation, and the amount of time you contribute is negotiable.
Volunteering roles are available weekdays and weekends, and vary across the Northern Health campuses. In accordance with legislation, all volunteer applicants must undergo a police check, the cost of which is covered by Northern Health.
People have their own reasons for volunteering, but all agree that volunteering allows them to give as well as receive. Volunteering is performed for the benefit of both the community and the volunteer.
