Unit F
Newly established in late 2007, Unit F is a 16 bed Acute Medical & Inpatient Oncology Unit.
Unit F uses a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to patient care, aiming to provide excellence in nursing care ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients and relatives. Specialist services include the Aged Care Assessment Team and the Palliative Care Service.
Common patient conditions include Unstable Angina, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Congestive Cardiac Failure, Asthma, Diabetes Mellitus a variety of oncology conditions including end of life care.
Many nursing skills can be gained through working with the Unit F team. These include: patient assessment, discharge planning, blood products, pharmacology, syringe drivers, PICC lines, implanted ports, as well as delivering holistic care to both patient and family.
Take advantage of free in-hospital education programs, study days and short courses in Oncology, Palliative Care and Central Venous Access Devices (CVADs) and much more. Post Graduate Certificate in Cancer and Palliative Care Nursing through University of Melbourne and extra study leave support and access to scholarships. |
