Nursing Education at Northern Health

Nurturing and developing opportunities for the staff of the future is the linchpin of Northern Health's approach to teaching and patient care.

Northern Health has a major teaching facility at The Northern Hospital and provides education at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

We have a dedicated Education Centre who support Registered Nurses in obtaining and maintaining current clinical and academic knowledge to assist in the delivery of quality, timely appropriate patient care.

The Education Centre provides support, education and career advancement opportunities to more than 800 nurses employed by Northern Health.

We provide programs in formats as diverse as half hour inservice education sessions to 1 year post registration courses.

Education sessions are open to all nurses employed by Northern Health's five campuses and all affiliated local nursing homes and hostels. Education is free of charge to all Northern Health Employees.
