Northern Health celebrated it's ninth birthday on July 1st, 2009.
“Northern Health staff staff have provided care to the community on more than 2.3 million occasions in the nine years since our service was established in 2000,” Northern Health's CEO, Greg Pullen said.

“Each of these presentations represents a patient/client who has relied on our services to assist them in their recovery from illness or injury.
“This extraordinary figure is testament to the hard work of people right across Northern Health, and is something the organisation is very proud of,” he said.
"Since July, 2000 our health service has undergone significant change and growth in order to meet the needs of our patients - including expanding from three campuses (Broadmeadows Health Service, Bundoora Extended Care Centre and The Northern Hospital) to five following the opening of Panch Health Service (2003) and Craigieburn Health Service (2007)." |

“As a result of a variety of changes and improvements, we have not only increased access to care for patients/clients but have also further developed the unique mix of services we offer to our community,” Mr Pullen said.
“I would like to thank all staff who have been involved with Northern Health in the past nine years - both in clinical and non-clinical roles. The work they have been responsible for has enabled our organisation to cement itself as the major provider of healthcare in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
"The quality and dedication of staff around Northern Health ensures we are well placed to deal with the growing northern community and will continue to improve the care we offer to our patients/clients," Mr Pullen said.
