Community Liaison Unit

What is the Community Liaison Unit?

Bundoora Extended Care Centre is one of five campuses of Northern Health. As such, we recognise the importance of being an organisation that reflects the needs and aspirations of the community it serves, and therefore understand the value of building strong links with the wider community.

To better engage the local community, the Community Liaison Unit at BECC was formed in 2007 with the purpose of closely connecting those areas within the service that have a strong community focus. The Community Liaison Unit currently consists of Community Development, Health Promotion, the Community Visitor Scheme, the BECC Volunteer program, and BECC Fundraising. The common thread linking these areas is community support and involvement through consumer and community participation activities, volunteering roles, fundraising activities, and community-oriented activities that promote better health.

Each of these areas within the Community Liaison Unit provides community members and groups with different opportunities for ‘Getting Involved at BECC’.
