About the Northern Health Continuing Care Graduate Nurse Program
| The objective of the Continuing Care program of Northern Health is to ensure the provision of care for older people and people with chronic conditions and complex care needs occurs within a seamless continuum.
We aim to ensure that people recovering their health or with chronic and complex health needs, receive appropriate health care, in appropriate settings, in a timely and co-ordinated way, to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Northern Health Continuing Care Program is delivered across two campuses - Broadmeadows Health Service (BHS) And Bundoora Extended Care Centre (BECC). |

It is a 78-bed sub acute facility that provides both inpatient and ambulatory outpatient services which include aged care, rehabilitation and palliative care inpatient units. Ambulatory services include a day procedure unit, outpatient clinics, mental health services and renal dialysis service. |

As a Graduate Nurse with Northern Health Continuing Care you receive experience in fields of nursing that are rapidly expanding - whilst developing rewarding and complex skills that will always be in demand.
- Northern Health Continuing Care offers Graduate Nurse intakes in January and March every year
- The GNP last for 54 weeks
- There is an option for full time or part time work (a total of eight shifts a fortnight)
- The program commences with comprehensive orientation, followed by supernumerary clinical shifts
- There are a variety of clinical rotations available to you during Graduate Year
- You are entitled to paid graduate study days
- Continued clinical education is provided via learning packages and graduate nurse in-services.
- Supported by qualified Clinical Nurse Educators
- Mentoring by trained preceptors
