Dr Penny Harvey
Clinical Leader
Dr Penny Harvey is a Geriatrician at Bundoora Extended Care Centre and The Northern Hospital. She developed a particular interest in advance care planning for people living in Residential Care Facilities (Aged Care Homes) whilst conducting a randomized controlled trial entitled 'Residential Care Intervention Program in the Elderly' (known as 'RECIPE') between November 2002 and January 2005. This study identified a need for improved care planning and provision of quality palliative care within a person's Aged Care Home, and the RECIPE service (no longer a research project) continues to work on these aspects of care.
