Northern Health's Strategic Plan

Northern Health’s 2006-2009 Strategic Plan reflects the significant growth that the health service has experienced since its inception in 2000 with a budget of $110 million, to the current budget in 2006/007 of around $218 million.

It also underscores the need to consolidate to ensure a strong foundation from which to continue to meet the needs of the local community.

The plan has been developed by the Northern Health Board in conjunction with staff, external service providers, consumers and government.

This strategic plan sets the direction and priorities for Northern Health for the next three years. The plan both provides the broad course for Northern Health and sets the overarching framework for all planning.

The plan also outlines the vision we have for the North – what we are working towards, with others, and what we aspire to achieve. It outlines Northern Health’s mission or role in achieving this vision, along with the values that we practise daily when carrying out our mission.

The strategic plan is focussed on four strategic priorities, which simultaneously align with what we are and what we want to be. The priorities centre on Quality, People, Finance and Integration.
