Day Procedure Unit 

Patients requiring same day surgical procedures or endoscopic investigations are able to access this service.

The Day Procedure Unit (DPU) comprises two operating theatres and one endoscopy suite. The staff include: Nurses, Surgeons, Endoscopists, Theatre Technicians, Clerical, Cleaning.

The Procedural Types are: General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Ophthalmology Gynaecology, Endoscopy and IVF.
Patients are able to undergo small day procedures with minimal waiting time following arrival at the DPU. They will have had an appropriate pre-operative work up completed prior to attendance at DPU for surgery

Specialist Medical Consulting Suites
The Broadmeadows Health Service (BHS) Specialist Medical Consulting Suites endeavour to provide specialist outpatient services to the northern community. Our Consulting Suites comprise the following specialities: Diabetes, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Geriatric Evaluation and Management, Haematuria, Antenatal and Gynaecology (linked with The Northern Hospital and The Royal Women's Hospital), Neurology, Urology, Osteoporosis.

Last year, we provided 11,477 consultations. This is an average of 45 patients every day, who received this service at no charge. All enquiries should be directed to the Specialist Medical Consulting Suites on (03) 8345 5118.
