Drivers

Volunteers provide transport for clients who live at home and need transport to required medical appointments. For patients who do not have readily available access to transportation, this service alleviates worry and hassle.

Volunteer Drivers must have a current, valid driving licence with no restrictions. Volunteers driving their own vehicle must have comprehensive car insurance.

A Settling In Service is provided by volunteers to escort a patient home following a stay at Broadmeadows Health Service. The volunteers provide the type of assistance normally provided by a family member, friend or neighbour ie: purchasing essentials such as bread / milk, perhaps preparing a light meal and ensuring heating and cooling has been turned on.

The service is for people of any age who may benefit by the assistance of a volunteer available to take them home. Patients must be independent and agree to accept the service.
