Northern Health has an active research program that spans many research areas and departments. The Northern Health research community has developed a strategic plan to guide and grow our research activity. In particular, research at Northern Health focuses on “Good health for life” through research in the areas of: Genetics Chronic disease Ageing Health systems, structure and processes

Our multidisciplinary research community is working to strengthen and build new partnerships and networks. This is evidenced by our active collaborations with a number of universities, other health services and research institutes.

Northern Health has a strong commitment to building research capacity. This is demonstrated by allocated funding to support research infrastructure and strengthen the research culture. This has enabled the establishment of a small grants scheme, research scholarships and research education programs, which have all contributed to an increase in research activity by Northern Health staff and students.
