The Department is staffed and led by Emergency Physicians. The Service provides assessment, investigations and treatment to patients who present for emergency care. There is a 14 bed Short Stay Unit for patients who may need a period of observation.
A multidisciplinary care coordination team provides discharge risk screening and referral to the community ensuring supports are in place for safe discharge home from the Emergency Department.
*Please note that The Northern Health Emergency Department does not have an Ear Nose and Throat Service and alternative arrangements should be sought.*
