Building a better Northern Hospital

Northern Health is working hard to build a better Northern Hospital and provide more of the services and facilities needed by the local community.

Northern Health received $7.4 million in the Victorian 2010-11 State Budget to boost cardiac services. The Northern Hospital is currently undertaking two major capital redevelopment projects: the building of two new Cardiac Catheter Laboratories and the redevelopment of the front entrance.

The new Cardiac Catheter Laboratories will enable The Northern Hospital to provide more cardiac procedures each year, including coronary angiograms, coronary angioplasties and in the insertion of pacemakers and defibrillators.

The redevelopment of the front entrance of The Northern Hospital will include a new entrance and cafeteria for patients, visitors and staff.  Construction work on the front entrance commenced on Wednesday, 1 December 2010.

Thank you to all staff, visitors and patients for your cooperation and patience.

UPDATE:

Friday, 7 October 2011

Staff, patients and visitors are advised that the main front entrance has re-opened.
