With just a month to go, Broadmeadows Health Service is on track to complete its $17.3M upgrade, which includes the development of two additional theatres, expansion of on-site pharmacy and radiology services and enhancement of pathology collection.
Belinda Scott, General Manager of Broadmeadows Health Service, is looking forward to the project nearing completion. “Our staff have been working closely with patients to ensure there is little disruption to our services, and we are on schedule to complete this expansion which began back in September 2016,” she said.
“This expansion will help us better manage surgical patients of higher acuity, increase the range and complexity of surgical procedures performed at Broadmeadows and assist more residents in Melbourne’s north receive surgery locally and in a timely manner.” stated Ms Scott.
As part of this upgrade a new waiting lounge was installed in the dialysis unit. The new waiting lounge is equipped with a kitchenette, enabling patients and their families to make themselves tea and coffee and heat their food. Patients who come in to the unit 3 times per week for their treatment are highly appreciative-Bob is one of them. Read his story here:
